The UFC’s 2018 pay-per-view schedule will kick off on January 20th, as ESPN’s Brett Okamoto confirmed with Dana White that UFC 220 will take place at the TD Garden Arena in Boston, MA.

No fights have been announced at this point.

This will be the fifth time that the Octagon has traveled to Boston, and just the second time ever for a pay-per-view. The UFC has staged three FS1 cards in the city, with the most recent one featuring a bantamweight title fight between T.J. Dillashaw and Dominick Cruz back in January 2016. Conor McGregor earned a featherweight title shot with his TKO win over Dennis Siver in the 2015 headliner at that same venue, and Chael Sonnen choked out Mauricio Rua in August 2013.

The UFC’s first event in Boston happened in August 2010, when Frankie Edgar easily defeated B.J. Penn in the UFC 118 headliner, and Randy Couture submitted boxing legend James Toney in the co-headliner.

By the way, UFC 220 takes place on the same night as Bellator MMA’s “tentpole” show in California, headlined by a welterweight title fight between Douglas Lima and Rory MacDonald.
