Will Khabib Nurmagomedov fight Tony Ferguson for the UFC interim lightweight title at UFC 209? That was what Russian media reported over the Christmas holidays, but Dana White shot those hopes down, citing Ferguson wanting equal pay to Nurmagomedov. Khabib even offered Ferguson $200,000 to make the fight happen.
As the status of the fight remains in question, Khabib’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, tweeted at Ferguson an ultimatum that he had a week to “make a deal with the UFC” or else it was time to move on and fight someone else. He immediately deleted it, but the internet never forgets, and if you take a closer look at the tweet, it sure reads like it was supposed to be from Khabib’s account.

Abdelaziz’s tweet at Ferguson never was re-posted under Khabib’s account. Look at it this way, it’s certainly better than the time he meant to be tweeting under Frankie Edgar’s account, but instead was published on his own. (H/T Grabaka Hitman)
