Showtime Boxing Carl Frampton vs Leo Santa Cruz II fight card and preview

Join us here on Saturday night as Showtime presents a strong card and a killer main event rematch from one of 2016's best fights.

On Saturday night, Showtime treats fans to an overall excellent two fight card. The night is headlined by a major rematch as Carl Frampton (23-0; 14 KO) once again takes on Leo Santa Cruz (32-1-1; 18 KO).

Frampton vs. Santa Cruz I was one of the best fights of 2016 - a highly anticipated, tough to call fight between two undefeated world champions. That night, Frampton managed to go up in weight and still take the fight to Santa Cruz, wining a much-earned decision that claimed him Fighter of the Year honors on more than one year-end poll. That first fight took place in July and neither man has fought since, so it will once again be for the WBA title. Featherweight is an extremely stacked division, with Gary Russell, Jr., Abner Mares, and Lee Selby all near the top, but this is undoubtedly another battle between two of the division's elite.

Also on the broadcast is the latest from Mikey Garcia (35-0; 29 KO). Last summer, Garcia ended a two and a half year exile from the sport, coming back and looking very good in a win over Elio Rojas. He takes a step back up to the top level here, going against Dejan Zlaticanin (22-0; 15 KO) in a very good fight between undefeated fighters. Garcia vacated a 130 pound title during his absence - now he has a chance to win Zlaticanin's WBC Lightweight title. But to do so, he'll have to defeat one of the division's top 2 or 3 fighters.
