Paul Daley is called Semtex for a reason. The British welterweight has long been known as one of the hardest hitters in the sport, and has put many fighters to sleep with his vaunted hands. Last night at Bellator 170 though, he let some other weapons do the talking - namely, his elbow and knee.
Daley was in the cage with the tough Brennan Ward, who had only been stopped with strikes once in his career prior to last night. After some back-and-forth action, Daley nailed Ward with a spinning elbow coming off the cage, then a picture perfect flying knee that knocked Ward out cold. He was stretchered out of the cage, though he is thankfully okay.
Well, most of him apparently is. His face? Not so much. MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn tweeted a pic of Ward in the aftermath, and it’s pretty rough:
Paul Daley's flying knee did a real number on Brennen Ward's face. I'm going to go cry now. pic.twitter.com/ejauEYb6Eg

The win led Daley to call out former UFC welterweight contender Rory MacDonald, who recently signed with the promotion. As for Ward, he may be on the shelf for a while after that. Yikes.
