UFC 209 odds: Woodley vs. Thompson even, Khabib favored over Ferguson

An early look at the betting odds for UFC 209 shows that Khabib Nurmagomedov is a favorite for his title fight with Tony Ferguson.

MMA: UFC 205-Nurmagomedov vs Johnson Adam Hunger-USA TODAY Sports

UFC 209 will feature two title fights, and both of them are close odds-wise. That shouldn’t come as a surprise - the headlining fighters went to a draw the last time they fought, and the co-main features two fighters on incredible win streaks. The second fight is a little wider than the first though.

As of right now, oddsmakers have the welterweight rematch between Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson pretty much even. In the interim lightweight title fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson, the Dagestani fighter is the man on the minus side of things. Here are the current odds (via BestFightOdds):

UFC 209: Woodley vs. Thompson 2 odds - BestFightOdds

For those new to BestFightOdds, they take the lines from many sports books and offer the best on each side in the handy chart above. If you'd like to see what each book is offering individually, you can do that over at their site.

In terms of Thompson/Woodley, the odds have stayed pretty much even since the line opened. Woodley is the slightest of underdogs, but that might change closer to fight time. Meanwhile, it looks like some early money has actually come in on Ferguson in the other bout. Khabib opened in the -200 range, and currently only one major book still has him there. Most books have him around -175 now.

Are you interested in betting on either of these fights? Personally I’d be laying off the welterweight title fight for sure, but I still think there’s some value in Khabib at that price. That’s just me though.
