A frustrated Junior dos Santos is tired of fellow former UFC heavyweight champion, Fabricio Werdum, running away from him. As dos Santos explained to UOL, he claims Werdum turned down yet another offer to fight him, once Stefan Struve had to pull out of UFC Fight Night 105, citing a shoulder injury.
"All I know, for now, is that I'm still on the card,” dos Santos said. “The UFC is searching for an opponent and I hope they can find someone who is relevant for us. It's the second time in a month Werdum turns me down. As soon as Struve announced he was injured, the UFC called him and he refused the fight. It makes me sad, because it's a waste of time and I have no more time to waste. I'm pretty upset and frustrated over all this."
A few weeks ago, Werdum admitted that he wanted more money to fight JDS at UFC 207, following Cain Velasquez’s removal from the card. Dana White had claimed Werdum was offered dos Santos at UFC 207, as well as Alistair Overeem at UFC 208, but neither fight materialized.
Junior dos Santos is still linked to UFC Fight Night 105, in Halifax, Canada, on February 19. He has been away from the Octagon since April 2016, when he defeated Ben Rothwell by unanimous decision.
