Though most can agree that Fedor Emelianenko is well past his prime, the Russian heavyweight continues to command a hefty price tag for his services.

According to Russia’s izvestia.ru, Fedor was offered $2 million USD to fight on RIZIN’s New Year’s Eve show on December 31st. While the report did not name a specific opponent, it hinted that Wanderlei Silva could potentially be selected as Fedor’s foe.

Last week, BloodyElbow reported that Fedor planned to complete once more in 2016 and that he was fielding offers from numerous promotions. A reunion with RIZIN is particularly interesting given that their relationship soured several months ago when Fedor joined the EFN 50 line-up against Fabio Maldonado. BloodyElbow later reported that the Russian MMA Union, which Fedor is president of, hired the officials for the entire show, including the Fedor vs. Maldonado main event.

Emelianenko is currently in Stary Oskol, where he has gathered with ‘Fedor Team’ for a training camp.
