Thank you everyone who responded to my request asking which former UFC fighters you would most like to see interviewed on Bloody Elbow. For those who missed it, here's that original post:
Spencer Fisher was the first 'most wanted' UFC vet I hooked up with, expect that interview to come soon.
But we have another UFC veteran who has agreed to take part in this project. The owner of the McKenzietine himself, Cody 'the AK kid' McKenzie.
McKenzie was a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter: Team GSP vs. Team Koscheck, which aired back in 2010. McKenzie was eliminated from the show by Nam Phan, but in spite of this the Alaskan went on to compete seven times in the UFC, beating Leonard Garcia, Marcus LeVasseur, and Aaron Wilkinson. His last fight in the UFC was versus Sam Stout at UFC on Fox: Johnson vs. Benevidez 2 in 2013. Since then he has fought in a number of smaller promotions, such as WSOF and Venator FC.
