Conor McGregor took the rematch over Nate Diaz in dramatic fashion at UFC 202, winning by majority decision. There's already mutual interest in a trilogy bout, but at 155 lbs instead of welterweight. Dana White doesn't want an immediate rubber match, as thrilled as he was with last Saturday's war.
The options seem pretty cut-and-dry, no matter what Dana says. We could see the trilogy next, McGregor vs. Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight title, or McGregor vs. Aldo 2 for Conor's first defense of his featherweight belt. Two of these three options would surely result in McGregor being stripped of his title, not even a year after winning it from Jose Aldo. All three fights have varying levels of intrigue and storylines behind them.
