If you like knockouts and beatdowns, then the first two UFC 202: Diaz vs. McGregor 2 PPV bouts were for you. Mike Perry destroyed Hyun Gyu Lim, while Tim Means returned to the Octagon by smashing Sabah Homasi. Here's how those fights played out.
Mike Perry def. Hyun Gyu Lim via TKO (punches) at 3:38 of round 1 - Welterweights
Lim looked a full weight class bigger than Perry when they stepped into the Octagon. Lim landed a right hand and then he got tagged with a huge right hand and Perry scored the knockdown. Perry swarmed but Lim nearly swept him. Then he advanced to mounted crucifix and hammered Lim with big punches. Perry let Lim back up to his feet. More exchanges and a right hand blasts Lim. Folds him like a deckchair. Lim in massive trouble. More ground-and-pound and Lim in pure survival mode. Lim is back to his feet. Down with a left hand one more time and that's a wrap. Perry maintains his unbeaten record and wins on short notice.
Tim Means def. Sabah Homasi via TKO (strikes) at 2:56 of round 2 - Welterweights
Counter left hand by Means from his southpaw stance to open the fight. Homasi with a nice leg kick and another one. Stiff left by Means again and a big knee. Homasi may have been hurt but he's able to shoot for the takedown and get it. Means gets back to his feet fairly quickly. Homasi swinging wildly and not landing. Means tags Homasi with a knee and an inside elbow. Homasi pushes forward for another takedown and gets it. Means throws some hard elbows to the side of Homasi's head and scrambles back up. Homasi just misses with a high kick. Hard knee and two short elbows by Means, who has opened up a nasty cut on Homasi's forehead. More elbows by Means and Homasi is clearly tired. Spinning elbow whizzes by Homasi's face but doesn't make contact. Another body shot and more elbows. Homasi is throwing back but he's being battered.
More combinations on the inside by Means cracked Homasi in the head and the body. Homasi's cut began bleeding again. The body shots have taken a huge toll on Homasi's cardio. Big jab stings Homasi's face. The beating continued through the 2nd half of the 2nd round. Jab and a straight left. More punches to the head and that's all she wrote. A standing stoppage forced by Herb Dean after Means was literally slapping him in addition to punching and kicking him. That was pretty brutal.
