Tyron Woodley responds to Nick Diaz: 'His IQ outside of fighting is not extremely high'

New, comments

New UFC champ Tyron Woodley responded to Nick Diaz's rant about him.

Shortly after Tyron Woodley won the welterweight belt at UFC 201, he spoke about wanting to defend his title against bigger and more established names such as Nick Diaz or Georges St-Pierre.

Diaz, who is now a free man after his suspension has ended, was asked about this by TMZ. This is where he went on a bit of a rant about wanting to "fight the best guy" but not wanting a "fake a** piece of plastic", and that he's "on top" and "no one has done what he has done".

Woodley has since responded to this, in a follow up with the popular outlet.

"He didn't make sense," Woodley said. "He 'wanted to fight the best', I have the gold. But he don't want the gold, he 'made PPV' without the gold."

"I think Nick Diaz is a great fighter. If he realized, that I was actually giving him credit and I was actually wanting to fight him because he was one of the best welterweights in the history of the sport, I think he would've answered it quite differently."

"But as it shows you, his IQ, outside of fighting, is not extremely high."

"I think I may get an opportunity to fight Georges St-Pierre, which is going to be a bigger payday, so he can go fight for a 'non-plastic belt' against somebody else. He might have walked his way out of several seven figures."

Woodley and Diaz have been linked to a fight in the past, and Tyron has been asking for that match up since their days in Strikeforce.
