Tomorrow, we'll finally get to see who wins the battle for bragging rights. The highly anticipated rematch between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz has got the kind of hullabaloo around it that the big boxing matches of the 90's used to have. When you get this kind of excitement, you end up with lots of predictions and analytical pieces floating all around the internet. Everyone's got a hot take on the fight, but the ones we especially like to hear from are the fighters.
Fighters have been giving their predictions for years, but it's not often we get treated to a written breakdown of any real substance. Champions.co has a fighter blog series that has been seeing MMA athletes weighing in on current news in the community, as well as penning prediction posts. The latest to join the ranks in a written analytical role is Dan Henderson, who has an insider perspective on how this bout may go down.
"I'm not underestimating McGregor's ability to win. He absolutely has a chance to win here. He's got legitimate power and very dynamic striking. He uses angles well, and he's great at baiting guys to charge him. His kicks are flashy, but they're really just an instrument he uses to set up his good countering when someone ends up taking the bait (side note: Nate did not take the bait in the first fight).
If I had to pick a round, I'd say the third, and I think it will end up with Nate finishing the fight with some nasty ground and pound. I've said it before and I'll say it again, in this sport, anyone can win on any given day. I just have a feeling that Saturday won't be Conor McGregor's day."
There's actually a lot more, but you'll need to read the whole analysis blog HERE,. You can check out more fighter predictions HERE.
