A few days ago, UFC women's bantamweight Leslie Smith alarmed many folks when she spoke of a tumor she has on her stomach. When talking about a possible fighter union, she discussed how the UFC's health insurance covers injuries sustained in the cage or in training, but didn't cover things like her tumor. And she doesn't have the money to get it checked out.
Today though, it seems that the UFC has contacted her in regards to offering assistance. Smith took to social media to thank the promotion:
Thank you @ufc for reaching out and offering to look into helping me get the tumor evaluated.

She also spoke to MMA Junkie about the issue, explaining that the tumor is benign, but she would like to get it removed nonetheless:
"It’s a benign tumor. I’ve asked quite a few doctors about it and they’ve always told me that it’s not going to kill me or anything, and that’s always nice to hear when you have growths on your body. But I don’t want this thing on my body anymore. I want to get rid of it, and I’ve wanted to get rid of it for a while."
Smith (8-7-1, 2-3 UFC) is coming off a loss to Cris Cyborg at UFC 198. she does not currently have a fight scheduled.
