The UFC returns for their second show in Manila, Philippines on October 15, and another bout has been added to the line up. As announced by the promotion, Kyoji Horiguchi and Ali Bagautinov are set to face off in a battle between exciting flyweight sluggers and former title contenders.
Horiguchi, who is ranked #3 in the world, has won two straight since losing to flyweight champion and top pound-for-pound fighter, Demetrious Johnson in 2015. The 25-year-old Japanese star is still showing improvements in his game, and has gone 6-1 in the UFC and 17-2 overall.
Bagautinov on the other hand, is currently ranked #8, and picked up a decision win last June to end a two-fight skid. In 2014, he earned a title shot, but succumbed to Johnson and tested positive for EPO. Following his suspension, he dropped a decision to the #1 ranked Joseph Benavidez.
UFC: Manila will be headlined by a featherweight bout between B.J. Penn and the #4 ranked Ricardo Lamas. Although not yet officially announced, a heavyweight contest between Derrick Lewis and Marcin Tybura has also been agreed upon for the event.
