Tim Kennedy says he'll be making his return to the Octagon after a long absence.

Tim Kennedy is back. Or he will be fairly soon at least, according to the man himself. The UFC middleweight has been out of the Octagon for almost two years, but he took to Facebook to announce that he has a UFC fight booked in the near future:

"I have a fight. I can't tell you anything about it. The UFC has to announce it, but after I come back from South America, I am in shape. I have been training, I knew I had a fight coming up. And now I'm telling you - I have a fight."

Kennedy is currently in South America filming the second season of his reality show "Hunting Hitler", which airs on the History channel. He wasn't about to go into any detail about the fight, choosing to let the UFC announce the bout first. But he was quick to point out that if he wins, and Michael Bisping defeats Dan Henderson, he wants his shot at the UFC middleweight title:

"After this fight, you can't say that I shouldn't be the champion. The details of that have to wait for the UFC to tell you when, where and who. But I'm telling you, I'm fighting."

"It's going to be big. Hopefully, Michael Bisping will stay the champ. If he beats Dan Henderson, he has no choice but to defend his title against me. I was the last guy to beat the brakes off him."

Despite his extended layoff, Kennedy (18-5, 3-1 UFC) is still ranked in a tie for the 12th spot at 185 pounds in the UFC rankings. The man he's tied with? The next UFC middleweight title challenger, Dan Henderson. Kennedy hasn't fight since a controversial TKO loss to Yoel Romero at UFC 178 in September 2014.
