Conor McGregor has completely changed his preparation ahead of the highly anticipated rematch with Nate Diaz at UFC 202.
McGregor, who will rematch Diaz at welterweight, is known for his somewhat laid-back attitude with regard to sparring but has been forced to reevaluate his training regime ahead of August 20.
According to the Irishman, 412 rounds of sparring -- against middleweights -- have been added up since his fight camp started earlier this year.
"Round four hundred and twelve. Against middleweights. "They'll study this camp. #UFC202," McGregor posted on Instagram.
McGregor lost the first bout to Diaz at UFC 196, tapping to a rear-naked choke in the second round. The SBG Ireland product was supposed to challenge then-champion Rafael dos Anjos for the lightweight title, but the Brazilian was forced to pull out with a broken foot. Due to the last minute circumstances, McGregor accepted a fight with Diaz at welterweight, which marked uncharted territory for the featherweight champion.
UFC 202, which features Diaz vs. McGregor II in the main event, takes place on August 20 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
