R1: Cormier looks to methodically close range behind a wall of jabs and he finishes an easy double leg with Silva trapped in the corner. Silva closes his guard and keeps his hips active but Cormier eventually stabilizes and thwacks him with a cross-face elbow. Cormier steers Silva's head onto the fence and stacks his legs to pass to half guard. More grinding forearms to the face from Cormier.
Cormier postures up and lands two body shots; Silva catches him with a left from his back. Cormier turns up the intensity on the ground-and-pound after Silva rotates his head away from the cage. Short, glancing ground strikes from Cormier though Silva's defending pretty well. 10-9 Cormier.
R2: Silva comes out with a jumping switch kick that's mostly blocked. Silva keeps the pressure on with another left round kick. Cormier catches him with a right, then catches Silva's next kick and converts it into a takedown. Despite Cormier's activity, the crowd unleashes a restless murmur just one minute into the round. More smothering top control from Cormier.
Cormier weighs down on Silva's chest with a heavy base in a high half guard, looking to peel his leg out and pass to mount. They're stood up with 90 seconds left and Silva is slow to rise. Cormier steers Silva into the corner and lands a hard right cross. Silva lands a knee to the body, then a step-back right hand. Now two kicks land for Silva: one low, one to the body. 10-9 Cormier.
R3: Silva glances with a long left cross, then he lands a jumping switch kick to the body. Cormier glances with a right and knifes into the clinch, eating an elbow from Silva but taking him down. The crowd rumbles their disapproval. Again in half guard, Silva fights for posture control and is effective in blunting most of Cormier's ground strikes.
The crowd breaks out into a "stand them up!" cheer and, shortly after, referee John McCarthy obliges them. Cormier throws push kicks to the knee as time ticks away. A nice inside low kick from the light-heavyweight champ. Silva starts bouncing on his toes and he rushes Cormier in the final 30 seconds, first whirring his hands and then hurting Cormier with a cracking left kick to the ribs. Silva looks to swarm with punches but Cormier counter-clinches until time expires. 10-9 Silva. I have it 29-28 Cormier.

R3: Edgar flicks out a light low kick. The next one has more mustard on it. They trade right hands on the next exchange. Edgar gets deep enough on an entry to secure a body lock but Aldo is too powerful and slippery. Edgar manages to clinch up and keep Aldo on the fence for a brief spell. Edgar stings Aldo with a left hook.
Aldo sits down on a one-two and clocks Edgar with it cleanly. Aldo scores with the same counter knee as Edgar knifes in to clinch up. Edgar glances with a right hand, then lands an outside low kick. Step-back right and counter knee score for Aldo, then a nasty low kick. 10-9 Aldo.
R4: Nothing of note scores until an Edgar body kick 90 seconds in. More equal exchanges with neither fighter differentiating himself. Short left hook lands for Edgar. Aldo buckles Edgar's legs with a quick one-two, then follows with another right upstairs. They trade right hands.
Now Edgar's other eye is bleeding. They take turns landing right hands. A quick jab snaps Edgar's head back. Edgar steps in with a left high kick and Aldo sidesteps it, then scores with a counter right. 10-9 Aldo.
R5: Aldo opens with an outside low kick. Back-step jab lands for Aldo, then a sharp left. Edgar answers with a low kick. Edgar blocks a rugged left kick but the impact is quite substantial. Counter left lands for Edgar but Aldo responds with a clean right.
More methodical jousting on the feet with, in what seems like the overall theme of the fight, Aldo landing a harder and more often, though not by a wide margin. Edgar whiffs on a spinning kick. Aldo is willing to backpedal and let the clock run out. 10-9 Aldo. I have it 50-45 Aldo.
- Jose Aldo defeats Frankie Edgar by unanimous decision (49-46 x2, 48-47)
R1: Browne counters a pair of low kicks from Velasquez with a sharp right counter to the face. Now a counter-knee to the body from Browne as Velasquez forces a clinch, and Velasquez returns the favor with a knee to the gut. Velasquez lands a few short lefts before disengaging. Outside low kick lands to the upper thigh for the former champ. Cain follows a cross/hook combo into the clinch but, again, backs off to reset.
Velasquez throws a spinning kick and dings Browne with a punch, then sends him sailing to the canvas with a right hand. Half guard for Velasquez with busy left hands to the face. Browne starts to turtle but a choke attempt prompts him to roll onto his back. Browne takes a knee but Velasquez knocks out his arm post. Browne gets back to his feet and manages to separate, just missing with a hard left hook. Velasquez misses with another spinning kick but scores with an uppercut and a knee to the body. Velasquez bowls Browne over with a combination of pressure, power and jack-hammer right hands, and Browne stays flat on his stomach as Velasquez unreels punches to the head. The ref jumps in.
