In the immediate aftermath of the Jon Jones drug testing controversy and subsequent shuffling of the landmark UFC 200 event, Rashad Evans revealed that he is more than willing to step in for 'Bones' as a late replacement if needed.
The former champion, who spoke to Submission Radio on Thursday morning, explained that he is comfortable to make weight and then compete in a little over 48 hours.
"I definitely considered it," said Evans. "I'm mean, I'm ready. if they call me and say I'm fighting DC, would you want to? I would in a minute."
While Evans has not personally spoken to the promotional brass regarding his potential involvement in the historic show, his manager is currently in contact with them. He expects an answer shortly.
"I sent my manager to talk to them and see what they say. We'll see what happens."
Evans' may be in luck, as UFC President Dana White informed Colin Cowherd that the promotion plans to "get a fight done" for Cormier.
"There are tons of guys interested," said White.
