Photos: Cyborg Santos after surgery on fractured skull

Here are photos of Cyborg Santos after surgery on his fractured skull.

Evangelista Santos fell victim to a flying knee knockout courtesy of Michael Page at Bellator 158 earlier this month. While it was his Pokemon celebration that went viral that night, it's the aftermath of that well-timed knee that had serious and lasting effects, as it ended up as one of the nastiest injuries in MMA.

Cyborg's forehead was badly fractured, and on Wednesday, he finally had surgery to repair it. Bellator is covering the medical bills, and Santos states that the procedure was a success. He also sent MMA Fighting photos after the 7-hour operation.

His ex-wife, Invicta FC champ Cris Cyborg, started a GoFundMe page for him that received over $24,000 in donations. Santos has since gone on record to say that since the promotion is paying for medical bills, he will instead use this money to help out kids and young aspiring fighters in Brazil.

Santos is 38-years-old, and has compiled a record of 21-18 on his MMA career that started back in 1997.
