Crawford vs. Postol may not be a PPV ready encounter, but it is none the less one of the year's most intriguing fights. That's because, while Crawford may be the marquee fighter HBO has pushed over the past two years, Postol brings quite a bit to the table himself. The 28-0 Postol is the WBC champion, but until recently, he was largely unknown to all but the most committed boxing fans. That all changed on October 3 last year when Postol fought for just the third time in the US, scoring what is his career best win so far in an upset over the hard-hitting fan favorite Matthysse in one of 2015's best fights.
There's no doubt that Terence Crawford and Lucas Matthysse are very different fighters - but if Postol can bring the same skills Saturday night that he showed against Matthysse, then the Ukranian may be playing spoiler once again.
