Submission Underground results and live discussion

Submission Underground's debut event takes place live from the Roseland Ballroom in Portland, OR on Sunday, July 17. Submission Underground, former UFC star Chael Sonnen's new grappling competition, is a submission-only event which has adopted Eddie Bravo Invitational rules. Submission Underground kicks off at 8pm ET/5pm PT and streams live on FloCombat.com.

The main event features WSOF light heavyweight contender Vinny Magalhaes and former UFC fighter Ronny Markes. Magalhaes was supposed to meet Bellator MMA light heavyweight contender Muhammed Lawal, but "King Mo" was forced out of the match due to a neck injury.

In the co-main event, 2012 World's No-Gi Absolute gold medalist Fabiano Scherner squares off against former UFC heavyweight champion Ricco Rodriguez. Also on the card, WSOF welterweight contender Jake Shields faces UFC veteran Chris Lytle. Shields was initially scheduled to grapple against former UFC champ Ben Henderson, who pulled out of the grappling competition.
