UFC Fight Night event set for Hidalgo, Texas on September 17th

For the month of September, every Saturday will feature a UFC event, as the promotion announced a brand new FS1 card for the 17th.

If you thought the UFC's trip to Sioux Falls, South Dakota was "out there" in terms of American cities to hold an event, they've gone even smaller for their September 17th event. During last night's UFC Fight Night: Lineker vs. McDonald telecast, the promotion announced their debut show in the small town of Hidalgo, Texas, which is just about on the US-Mexico border and has a population of under 15,000.

No fights have been announced for this card, although we know it will be held at the State Farm Arena. Bellator 143 was held in the same venue late last year, with Joe Warren beating LC Davis in the main event. Premier Boxing Champions also staged a CBS event headlined by Omar Figueroa and Ricky Burns in May 2015.

In case you're wondering, there will be four UFC events in September, one for each Saturday in the entire month.

September 3rd - UFC Fight Night: Arlovski vs. Barnett (Fight Pass)

September 10th - UFC 203: Miocic vs. Overeem (PPV)

September 17th: UFC Fight Night: Hidalgo (FS1)

September 24th: UFC Fight Night: TBA (FS1)

This doesn't even include the fact that we have UFC 202 on August 20th, as well as UFC on FOX 21 on August 27th, so July 16th and August 13th are the only Saturdays without a UFC event from now until October. Every week is fight week.
