The main event of the UFC 200 landmark event culminated in a stunning upset, as Amanda Nunes submitted Miesha Tate in the opening round to be crowned new women's bantamweight champion. The fight lasted less than an entire round, as the Brazilian stormed through her opponent.

R1: Hard snapping jab lands for Nunes. Nunes catches Tate with a glancing counter right. Tate steps in to jam an incoming right hand and hits a takedown, but Nunes pops back up and separates immediately. Nunes shoves Tate away after another clinch attempt, then stings her with a pair of jabs and a right cross that buckles her legs. Tate throws a sloppy left hook and stays hunched over, and Nunes clubs her with a hard left hook.
More explosive punches from Nunes and Tate is a bloody, staggering mess. Nunes pours it on and Tate holds her ground and covers up but gets knocked off-balance by a thunderous right hand. Nunes pounces on her and moves to back control, wrenching an over-the-chin neck crank that Tate quickly taps to. It's announced as a rear-naked choke win.
