Report: Bellator 149 medicals show no heart issues for Kimbo Slice

According to a report from TMZ, Kimbo Slice's medicals from just a few months ago show no signs of heart issues.

Bellator says that Kimbo Slice passed all of his medicals ahead of Bellator 149 in February, and that there were no signs of serious heart issues. An unnamed official from the promotion spoke to TMZ, and stated that because Kimbo was over the age of 35, he had to pass a physical exam along with an EKG and an EEG.

No anomalies were apparently detected.

"If there was ANY sign that Kimbo was not healthy enough to fight, we would NOT have allowed him to fight."

"All of [Kimbo’s] physicals were passed" ... the [medical documents] are in the possession of the Texas Dept. of Licensing and Regulation."

The Texas commission is well known as having some of the most lax rules and regulations in the country. Slice was handed a short suspension by the commission after the bout for testing positive for an anabolic steroid. He defeated Dada 5000 that night by TKO.

Slice, real name Kevin Ferguson, died earlier this week of complications from congestive heart failure. He was 42 years old.
