Amid rumours of an octagon return, former UFC champion, Georges St-Pierre trains with his old adversary, former Strikeforce champ Jake Shields.

We are 5 years removed from UFC 129, but it seems like Georges St-Pierre and Jake Shields are going at it again, only this time it isn't personal. St-Pierre's long-time coach and Renzo Gracie black belt, John Danaher, took to instagram on Monday to share an interesting picture of two of the greatest welterweights of their generation.

While St-Pierre is constantly the subject of rumours surrounding a comeback to the cage, the Canadian has not competed since a split-decision victory against Johny Hendricks, at UFC 167. Following a controversial loss to Rousimar Palhares and some subsequent contract quarrels with the World Series of Fighting, Jake Shields has taken a self imposed sabbatical from the cage and has returned to his grappling roots, competing at Polaris 3 this past April.

Team Renzo Gracie has proven to be the most exciting no-gi team on the east coast in recent years, and if St-Pierre and Shields continue to share the mats with grappling phenoms such as leglock impresario Eddie Cummings, Gordon Ryan and Garry Tonon, they will be sure to improve their already outstanding grappling games immensely.

While St-Pierre's next move remains a mystery, his teammates have an interesting few months ahead. Gordon Ryan is set to face Keenan Cornelius this summer and Eddie Cummings is expected to compete at the upcoming Eddie Bravo Invitational.
