Yesterday, rumors began to circulate that Jose Aldo's UFC 200 slot was in jeopardy due to an undisclosed injury.
'Scarface', who will rematch Frankie Edgar for the interim featherweight title on July 9, shot down those rumors on social media and assured the public that he is healthy and injury free.

Aldo's wife, Viviane Pereira, and Brazilian journalist Ana Hissa also left a statement on Twitter, courtesy of the former 145-pound champion.

“I don’t know where this lie that I’m injured came from,” the tweet read, per Fernanda Prates of MMA Junkie. “I’m great, healthy, injury-free, training more than ever and stoked that my movie is about to come out. I think someone might be trying to take me out of this fight, but it’s not going to happen. I’ll be there on July 9 to take back what's mine".
Aldo, who pulled out of his initial championship fight with Conor McGregor at the highly anticipated UFC 189 PPV, has developed a reputation for pulling out of fights at the last minute.
The Brazilian ruled the featherweight landscape for six years before being usurped by 'The Notorious' at the rescheduled UFC 194 event. Following the loss, Aldo called for an immediate rematch but was forced to accept a fight with Edgar after McGregor announced his move up to the lightweight and welterweight divisions.
UFC 200, which will feature Aldo vs. Edgar on the main card, takes place on July 9 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
