KNUCKLE UP #312: UFC 199, The Awful, Wonderful Crushing Might of Old Dude Power + What Russia Weighs More Than!

Literary gunslinger Eugene S. Robinson lends his "one"-of-a-"kind" "perspective" to UFC 199 and, if we can settle him down enough from screaming at the top of his lungs to anyone under the age of 40 to "suck it", a thorough examination of what the hell just happened when OLD DUDES rise up, why this changes nothing for guys what might be standing by any kind of woodpile, who goes next, and why, and what exactly it is that he and guys like him "do" that counts as "professional". And, oh yeah: the Lesnar "fight" is bullshit.

In Round #312 EUGENE S. ROBINSON [with the "S" standing for "So-So Satisfied"], crows loud, hard and long about not only the glory that was UFC 199, but the fact that there's dance in the old dudes left. Just in case anyone was confused. And not just old dudes but old styles of approaching what really is still "a fight". Don't believe him? Ask the dudes still asleep on the mat staring at the roof of the church. And, oh yes, it hurts.

And for the listener ON THE GO? The KNUCKLE UP TIME LINE.

1] 7:01: THIS IS NOT DANCING

2] 8:52: NO TAPPING OUT IN STREET FIGHTING

3] 30:34: STILL WANT TO HELP OXBOW OUT? DO IT

4] 41:00: NAZI GENERALS + THE LIMITS OF GALL

5] 41:30: NO SEX STORIES THIS WEEK. OR MAYBE EVER. AGAIN.

6] 41:35: AND THEN, AT AKA, THERE WAS ONE

7] 41: 37: JETLAGGED FOR WHAT?

Eugene S. Robinson host of Knuckle Up and author of Fight: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Ass-Kicking but Were Afraid You'd Get Your Ass Kicked for Asking [Harper Collins], A LONG SLOW SCREW [Robotic Boot] and a play called THE INIMITABLE SOUNDS OF LOVE; A THREESOME IN FOUR ACTS [Southern] also sings for a band called OXBOW and appeared in Bill Cosby's Leonard Part 6 (and yes, a Cosby story is in the works), a Miller Genuine Draft commercial, and had his own TV show in Germany called? "The Eugene Robinson Show."
