Tweet of the Day: Khabib calls out Ferguson for fighting a debutant

Khabib Nurmagomedov hits back at Tony Ferguson, who is fighting late replacement Landon Vannata on July 13th. It was earlier this month that Ferguson had criticized Khabib for doing the same thing.

With Michael Chiesa out of the UFC Fight Night 91 main event on July 13th due to a ruptured disc, Tony Ferguson has been downgraded to co-main event status for his new fight against Landon Vannata. You may recall that Tony Ferguson had a recent interview where he was not pleased with the fact that when he withdrew from an April 16th main event against Khabib Nurmagomedov, Khabib accepted a main card bout against newcomer Darrell Horcher.

Now that it's Ferguson who has to fight a debutant on short notice, Nurmagomedov hasn't forgotten Ferguson's comments, and has since hit back on Twitter.

Last year, Khabib's primary Twitter target was Anthony Pettis. When Nurmagomedov pulled out of his UFC 187 bout with Donald Cerrone, Pettis said that "karma is a bitch," in reference to Khabib repeatedly calling him out for his injury problems, as well as accusing Pettis of being "scared" to fight him. Literally days later, Pettis withdrew from a fight vs. Myles Jury with an injury. Nurmagomedov took the high road, wishing Pettis a speedy recovery.
