This fight has been brewing for some time, and after a delay earlier this year, it is finally on. There’s good reason for the anticipation as these are two of the best Welterweights in the world squaring off at the perfect time (Ring Magazine has Thurman ranked at #3, Porter at #4). Both are younger fighters looking to advance their careers, and at least one will do so here. Stylistically, they also match up quite well and should provide an exciting but still very technically high-level fight. In boxing, we all too often don’t get the right fight at the right time - we’re getting just that this Saturday.

Also on the CBS broadcast is Oscar Molina vs. Jarrett Hurd in a good fight between two pretty evenly matched prospects. Hurd is the slight favorite, but this is another close one. A planned co-main event of Abner Mares vs. Jesus Cueller was cancelled this week due to an undisclosed medical issue for Mares.
