The Ultimate Fighter: Team Joanna vs Team Claudia episode 9 discussion

Tonight is episode 9 of The Ultimate Fighter: Team Joanna vs. Team Claudia with coaches Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Claudia Gadelha. The show airs tonight on Fox Sports 1 at 10:00 p.m. ET.

Last week, Joanna wins! Joanna wins! That’s right, Team Joanna finally snapped their 6 fight losing streak and officially will NOT go down in history as the first TUF (American) team to be swept. This is thanks to Joanna’s #1 pick Josh Stansbury, who got the job done (barely) against Abdel Medjedoub. And there was much rejoicing in Joanna-land.

This week, the last fight of the first round with Team Joanna #3 Ashley Yoder (currently best known for work on a stripper pole two weeks ago) vs. Team Claudia #2 Kate Jackson. Yoder is 4-1 and trains out of Team Quest. She has pretty decent experience, including an amateur split decision loss to current UFC fighter Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger, but she just barely pulled out a win to get into the house. Jackson is a British fighter. She’s 7-2-1 with one of those losses coming against none other than Joanna Champion. She’s undefeated in the 3 years since, and had a stoppage win in the prelims. I’ll take Jackson for the win here to leave Stansbury as the last Joanna teammate standing.

Also tonight, Cory Hendricks finds out if he stays in the competition or not, and the semifinals are announced, so it’s a busy night overall.
