Here is Howard on how he feels the UFC reneged on him:

"The UFC reneged on me man. I'm not trying to disrespect the UFC but they promised me a four-fight contract. I got knocked out by Tim Means and they released me. The reason I'm really upset about that is Tim Means popped hot. Now the story is supposedly he took something that he didn't know or whatever. Alright that's cool and all, but my beef with that is if you pop hot you pop hot. If I accidentally took some drugs that made me pop hot then there should be consequences of that and the consequences he didn't get. I got fired and he didn't so I don't understand that, but I'm kind of pissed at that. But you know it is what it is. They fired me...I'm going to call that politics, UFC politics. I'm with World Series now."

Howard spoke frankly about UFC politics:

"I honestly think UFC politics are horrible. The way they're doing their fighters...promising contracts is what they did to me. They promised me a four-fight contract. That's the thing. Working with the UFC is scary because of your livelihood. You don't know if you have a job tomorrow. If you do something that's not politically in their favor, or whatever the term is, you get fired. That's what my situation is...I need job security. It's hard enough being a fighter but when you fight for an organization, and they cut you on terms that they shouldn't have cut you on. That's the thing that's messed up."

World Series of Fighting 31 takes place on June 17, 2016 from the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut. Stay tuned to Bloody Elbow for event coverage, updates, news, and interviews. Video of this interview can be seen at the top of the page.
