A little fun fact about UFC 100's main event between Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir: it wasn't supposed to be the main event. This fight was originally scheduled for UFC 98, with Rashad Evans vs. Rampage Jackson targeted as the headliner for the July 11th, 2009 mega pay-per-view. Mir withdrew due to injury, so the fight was pushed back to UFC 100, while Rashad would proceed to get stanky leg'd by Lyoto Machida at UFC 98.
Anyway, there's very little for me to add to this free fight video (viewable at the top of the page) of the Lesnar vs. Mir rematch. Brock wanted to defend his title and avenge his UFC 81 loss to Mir, and he did just that. The crowd chanted "stand them up!" moments before Lesnar trapped Mir against the fence and then made strawberry rhubarb out of his face. This video does include Brock's double bird and his post-fight confrontation with a dazed Frank.
Here's Brent Brookhouse's play-by-play of the 2nd round:
Round 2 - Lesnar misses with a punch then gets a takedown and lets Mir up. Left hook by Mir and then a jumping knee and now Lesnar takes him down. Herb Dean is telling him to work roughly ten seconds after they hit the ground. Lesnar controls his arm and starts landing HUGE shots. Mir is dazed and stumbling and talking smack but he is bleeding badly and the fight was over. As the fans boo Lesnar flips them off. He is just a monster. Brock Lesnar wins by TKO, round 2.
And the BE community's reaction to the finish and Lesnar's post-fight behavior.
Lesnar will face Mark Hunt in the UFC 200 co-main event. Hunt is coming off a walkoff KO win against Frank Mir, who is banned for 2 years after testing positive for a banned substance.
