This Saturday night, boxing's big superstar in the making Canelo Alvarez looks to make the first defense of his Middleweight title when he takes on Amir Khan live on PPV. HBO Boxing Canelo vs. Khan is live this Saturday, May 7 with a fight time of 9:00 p.m. ET.

Here are the current fight odds for the main event courtesy of Bovada, as of Wednesday afternoon:

Canelo Alvarez -500
Amir Khan +350

Those are interesting odds in what has become an odd fight to try and predict. Canelo is the bigger man, he has the power advantage, his only career loss is to Floyd Mayweather... put all that together, add in Khan's questionable chin, and you have a pretty clear path to the Canelo victory that many are predicting. No surprise that he is the favorite.

At the same time, Khan has the speed, and in the eyes of many, he's the better technician. If he uses movement and speed to avoid the bombs and outpoint Canelo, there's a notable and vocal minority that thinks he could take the win.

The odds reflect this opinion. Canelo is a definite favorite, but it's not ridiculously wide by any means. If you feel confident in Canelo, or you are part of that Khan camp, this is a decent fight to make some money on.

Verdict: Possible bet on either man

For the PPV undercard, here are the complete odds:

David Lemieux -2250
Glen Tapia +950

Patrick Teixeira -150
Curtis Stevens +125

Frankie Gomez -240
Mauricio Herrera +190

Obviously, stay away from those Lemieux odds. The other two fights are close fights, where I think the right man is favored. If there's an upset to happen here, it's Stevens vs. Teixeira, where Stevens is a good veteran test for the Brazilian fighter, and one I am not confident Teixeira will pass. That said, those odds are virtually even, which makes the underdog bet less tempting. At something like +200, Stevens would like nice. Here? I'm a bit less inclined.

Verdict: Stevens if you're feeling adventurous, otherwise no action
