Cris Cyborg's long-awaited UFC debut came at UFC 198 in Curitiba, Brazil, and she tore apart Leslie Smith with ease en route to a knockout win.

The UFC debut of Invicta FC featherweight champion Cris Cyborg took place on the main card of UFC 198: Werdum vs. Miocic in Cyborg's hometown of Curitiba, Brazil. Standing opposite her on Saturday night was Leslie Smith, who was seeking to spoil her debut and score one of the biggest upsets in the history of MMA. As a reminder, this fight was contested at a 140 lbs catchweight, with Smith and Cyborg meeting halfway.

A hard right hand cracked Smith right away. Followed by a leg kick and a stiff jab. Big left hook and a right hand by Cyborg put Smith on her back. Cyborg swarmed on a badly hurt Smith, and after several ground strikes and some hammerfists, Eduardo Herdy intervened and stopped the fight. Leslie Smith was not pleased with the stoppage, but it was clearly a justified one.

Official result: Cris Cyborg def. Leslie Smith via TKO (punches) at 1:21 of round 1

Welcome to the UFC, Cris Cyborg.
