The talk of the day in MMA is about a cryptic tweet by UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor a little while ago. In the tweet, he says that he has "decided to retire young", and thanks whomever "for the cheese" before saying he'll catch them later.

His intentions are entirely unclear at this point in regards to what he had to say, but that isn't stopping his UFC 200 opponent from responding.

Nate Diaz, who defeated McGregor at UFC 196 and was set to fight him again at welterweight on July 9th, tweeted an amusing retort to Conor's statement:

The UFC hasn't issued a statement on Conor (or Nate's) remarks yet, but both Conor's coach John Kavanagh and MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani seem to be indicating that this isn't a joke. We'll just have to see how it all plays out, but as of right now, things are definitely strange in MMA land.
