To rub salt in the wound, "Bones" closed things off with a vintage D-X 'suck it' pose at the end of their staredown, to the delight of the fans.
Their rivalry dates back to 2014 when the two light heavyweights were booked to fight at UFC 182. A student of Jackson-Wink MMA academy, Jones beat "DC" in a fairly one-sided unanimous decision, but was stripped of the title in the following months due to a hit-and-run incident.
After Jones pled guilty to hit-and-run last year, the former champion was served with 18-months probation and was officially reinstated to the UFC roster. The 28-year-old has been booked for a championship rematch with Daniel Cormier at the upcoming UFC 197 pay-per-view on April 23rd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
