The MMA Prospectus: UFC shmu-fc, the prospects are everywhere else

Zane Simon and T.P. Grant are taking a look at all the rising talent in MMA fit to talk about, most of which isn't in the UFC this week. We'll look at RFA, Titan FC, Ring of Combat, and Bellator where Darrion Caldwell, Gregor Gillespie, Andre Harrison, and many more are looking to make statements.

It's a huge week for MMA prospects, and almost none of them are coming from UFC 196. McGregor vs. Diaz is a huge fight card with two great bouts at the top of it, but most of it is filled with longtime veteran talent. The young guns are all firing away on the regionals this week. Most notably, Bellator 151 will see Darrion Caldwell in the main event and Bubba Jenkins vs. Goiti Yamauchi on the main card. A trio of intriguing fighters still relatively early in their MMA careers.

In other regional news, Ring of Combat will see NCAA Div. I champion wrestler Gregor Gillespie headline their card, with Tiger Schulmann prospect Julio Arce in the co main. RFA 36 was supposed to feature top prospects Raoni Barcelos vs. Landon Vannata in the main event, but Vannata failed to make weight, so the bout has been cancelled. Still, NCAA Div. I All American Logan Storley is fighting on the undercard and could be a very promising talent.

Over in Titan FC, Rickey Simon and Andre Harrison both look like blue chippers on their way to the UFC, especially Harrison if he can get a win over Steven Siler in the co-main. Internationally, Mizuki Inoue, Grzegorz Szulakowski, and Henrique Shiguemoto are all doing work as well. Plenty to watch for fans of fighters on the rise.
