UFC 196: Nate Diaz, Conor McGregor and other competitors pass drug tests

New, comments

Despite all the allegations thrown around by the UFC 196 headliners, everyone on the card passed their drug tests.

UFC 196 is officially in the books without a hitch. One of the biggest PPVs in company history saw headliners Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz throwing around some heavy accusations in regards to drug testing, but in the end, everyone passed.

The info was confirmed by the Nevada Athletic Commission and USADA officer Jeff Novitzky (via MMA Fighting).

Before the fight, Diaz accused McGregor of being on steroids, along with the rest of the roster. Diaz himself has always fallen under the suspicion of not being able to pass a test for marijuana, despite never failing before. But with only 11 days to prepare and the fact that his brother Nick has been the poster child for weed suspensions, many believed he may pop.

Well, he didn't.

According to the MMA Fighting article, 18 fighters were tested by NAC and 6 were handled by USADA. USADA handled the headliners, Diaz and McGregor, along with the co-main eventers, Holly Holm and Miesha Tate. I guess that's one less potential headache the UFC has to deal with as they try to set up a rematch between Diaz and Conor for UFC 200 in July.
