UFC Fight Night 82 results: Roy Nelson decisions Jared Rosholt in snoozer

Roy Nelson really needed a win, and he got it at UFC Fight Night 82. It wasn't pretty though.

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

The co-main event of UFC Fight Night 82 didn't exactly deliver when it came to action. Roy Nelson and Jared Rosholt were expected to chuck some leather and maybe somebody would fall down. That didn't happen. Sure, they connected with a few shots here and there. But let's just say it left a lot to be desired.

Rosholt surprisingly didn't go for a takedown at all in the first round - instead, he landed the better shots and stayed out of range of Nelson's vaunted power. The round likely went to him. Nelson improved in the second, connecting with a hard leg kick that wobbled Rosholt and scoring more with his hands. Rosholt tried one takedown but there wasn't anything there.

The crowd was still not entertained.

The third was more of the same, with the men plodding around the cage. Rosholt didn't connect with much at all, while Nelson stalked him and landed a few shots, the best of which was another leg kick.

In the end, Nelson won a unanimous decision with scores of 30-27, 30-27, and 29-28.
