Dana White on Rousey-Tarverdyan relationship: 'It's a tough situation'

Dana White gave his thoughts on the ongoing war of words between Ronda Rousey's mom and her coach Edmond Tarverdyan.

There are few feuds more public right now in the MMA world than the ongoing beef between Ronda Rousey's mom, AnnMaria De Mars, and Ronda Rousey's head coach, Edmond Tarverdyan. With Tarverdyan embroiled in a number of controversies, including having his cornerman's license suspended and filing for bankruptcy, De Mars has taken a severe disliking to the man she sees as stifling her daughter's career.

Thus, TMZ caught up with UFC president Dana White (who has gone on the record to say that he and Rousey are close friends) to get his views on the chaos surrounding the UFC's most notable star:

"It's a tough situation. She has a lot of respect for her mom. She wouldn't be where she is today without her mom."
...
"If you look at what she's done to get where she is today and then you lose one fight, it's easy to dissect one fight and say somebody made a lot of mistakes ... look at what she did before that. Nobody talks about that.

"What her mom talks about is, [Ronda] was that good when she walked into the gym. But she wasn't a mixed martial artist. She was a judo Olympian.

"Her mom is badass, her mom is legit."

White also gave his opinion on the upcoming fight between current bantamweight champion Holly Holm (the first person to defeat Rousey) and her opponent Miesha Tate. That bout takes place at UFC 196 on March 5th in Las Vegas, Nevada.
