UFC 207 video: Ronda Rousey is the greatest female fighter of all time

New, comments

Bloody Elbow’s Connor Ruebusch discusses the legacy of Ronda Rousey ahead of her return bout against Amanda Nunes at UFC 207.

UFC 207 could very well be Ronda Rousey’s swan song. Were her career to end here, it would seem to some like nothing more than a bright flash in the pan in retrospect. But I’m here to tell you that Ronda’s legacy is already set. She has nothing more she needs to accomplish, even if there are still more things we would like to see her do.

Because Ronda Rousey is, hands down, the greatest female mixed martial artist of all time. No woman has ever changed the face of WMMA like Rousey, not to mention raised the mainstream profile of the entire sport. Georges St-Pierre, Brock Lesnar, Conor McGregor... the list of names that would comfortably sit beside Rousey’s is short, indeed.

This short video explores the reasons for Rousey’s greatness, and addresses the fact that how good you really are does not always determine your impact.
