UFC 207 free full fight video: Dominick Cruz vs. Urijah Faber 3

New, comment

Before Dominick Cruz defends his UFC bantamweight title vs. Cody Garbrandt, watch him dispatch Urijah Faber at UFC 199.

UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz has a pretty good track record against current and former Team Alpha Male fighters. He’s beaten TJ Dillashaw, twice defeated Joseph Benavidez, and after his WEC loss to Urijah Faber, he’s beaten him twice in the UFC.

Today’s UFC 207 free fight video centers around Cruz’s UFC 199 performance against Faber, which he won by unanimous decision. While their UFC 132 fight was competitive, the rubber match was very decisive in Cruz’s favor. Cruz nearly finished Faber with punches in round 2, but Faber recovered and proceeded to lose 50-45, 50-45, and 49-46.

You can watch the video at the top of the page. Here’s Dallas Winston’s play-by-play of the 2nd round:

R2: Cruz unreels a long straight left from southpaw and it drops Faber on his can. Cruz pounces with punches but Faber quickly recovers and scrambles to his feet. Cruz catches him with another clean shot in open space. Glancing double jab from Cruz, followed by a low kick. Faber tries to catch the next outside low kick to no avail.

Cruz's movement, while perhaps not as fluid as usual, is mounting in effectiveness and opening up striking opportunities. Faber is busy trying to decipher his opponent's motion and light on offense while Cruz leads the dance with forward engagement. Glancing front kick to the body and a left hand for Cruz though Faber answers with a counter. 10-9 Cruz.

Tonight, at UFC 207 in Las Vegas, Nevada, Cruz defends his title against another Team Alpha Male fighter, the unbeaten Cody Garbrandt.
