The UFC has wasted no time removing Conor McGregor from the 145-pound rankings. The featherweight champion was forced to give up his title, apparently against his will, when the promotion decided to make a UFC 206 headlining bout between Max Holloway and Anthony Pettis an interim title fight. This move also promoted Jose Aldo to full champion.
McGregor was champion of two divisions for two weeks, and now he’s not even ranked in a division where he has defeated the current champion and the current number two contender. To be fair though, his last three bouts have taken place outside of the weight class.
Other than the Conor situation, the rankings have only seen movement in one division, and that was as a result of the UFC’s most recent event in Melbourne. Oh, and because the last 185-pound title challenger retired. Here’s how everything broke down.
