Suspended UFC interim light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has an interesting new Twitter avatar.

Several months after failing his out-of-competition drug test and getting yanked off of UFC 200, UFC interim light heavyweight champion Jon Jones received his one-year suspension by USADA, following an October 31st arbitration hearing in Los Angeles. The ban will end on July 6th, 2017, as the suspension is retroactive to the day it was revealed he tested positive for the estrogen blockers, clomiphene and Letrozole.

Jones’ response on Twitter was definitely humorous, as his new avatar is the famous “Crying Jordan” meme.

For those unaware, “Crying Jordan” is the face of Michael Jordan, the Travis Lutter of the NBA. Jordan was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame, and his emotional speech led to him breaking down in tears. Photographer Stephan Savoia took the picture of “Crying Jordan” and a meme was born, and it’s (over?)used heavily on social media. Jones’ own avatar is actually the creation of @CryingJordan.

Of course, Jones isn’t going to keep that avatar around forever (at least I wouldn’t think so), but the trusty ol’ Wayback Machine will be able to archive this for all eternity.

While we won’t be seeing Jones in the Octagon for awhile, he will be competing at Chael Sonnen’s Submission Underground 2 event in Portland, Oregon on December 11th. His opponent will be none other than Dan Henderson, whom he was supposed to face at UFC 151 before Hendo pulled out with an injury, Jones turned down a short notice fight with Chael Sonnen, and the rest is history.
