For some reason, Ben Rothwell was annoyed when Junior dos Santos politely called out heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic on social media.
Hey @stipemiocicufc enjoy Thanksgiving in ur new home- hope it's filled w great food & friends. Let's fight after the holidays?Brooklyn? LMK
— Junior Dos Santos (@junior_cigano) November 24, 2016
Dos Santos, who reigned as HW champ from 2012-2013, beat Miocic in a pulsating contest at UFC on FOX 13. Both men fought back-and-forth in a competitive five-round fight, and ‘Cigano’ walked away with the unanimous decision.
The Brazilian also beat Rothwell via decision earlier this year, but Big Ben seems to think that JDS is less deserving of a title shot.
@stipemiocicufc serious who cares man. @junior_cigano called you out, tell him to fuck off. Are we going to build the HW division or what?

Rothwell, a veteran of 46 MMA fights, put together an impressive four-fight win streak and beat the likes of Alistair Overeem and Josh Barnett but was humbled by dos Santos at UFC Fight Night 86. The 35-year-old is currently ranked as the No. 5 heavyweight in the world, just one spot below JDS.
It’s likely that neither dos Santos or Rothwell will be selected as the next title contender, however, as top contenders Cain Velasquez and Fabricio Werdum will rematch at UFC 207. The winner will probably go on the face Miocic for the belt in 2017.
Miocic, 34, became champ when he knocked out Werdum at UFC 198 and successfully defended his title against Overeem in September, knocking out ‘The Demolition Man’ with heavy ground and pound in the first round. Miocic is Cleveland’s first sporting champion in 52 years.
