This Saturday, Uriah Hall and Gegard Mousasi will be headlining UFC Fight Night 99 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It’ll be a five-round fight, unlike their first bout in September 2015, which was a three-round co-main event. Their first fight was booked when Hall replaced an injured Roan Carneiro, while their rematch was made because Gunnar Nelson vs. Dong Hyun Kim was scrapped.
Hall is once again a massive underdog, but he did pull off the shocker when he first fought Gegard. After Mousasi dominated round 1, Hall wrecked Mousasi with a spinning heel kick, then followed it up with a flying knee. Uriah swarmed on Mousasi and became the first man to ever finish Mousasi with strikes. Video can be played at the top of the page.
Here’s Dallas Winston’s play-by-play of the very short 2nd round:
R2: Mousasi closes the distance quickly again but Hall starches him with a spinning kick to the face. Mousasi stumbles back and Hall vaults forward in mid-air, clipping Mousasi with a flying knee. Mousasi tries to tie up as Hall swarms with punches but the ref jumps in.
Uriah Hall defeats Gegard Mousasi by TKO (punches) R2 0:25
