After months of being publicly questioned about his hunger and drive to compete, Georges St-Pierre met with Dana White and ‘made peace’ with each other this past week.

White was asked about the meeting, and according to the UFC President, he has a great working relationship with one of his biggest stars ever.

“My relationship has never been better with GSP. I’m glad we got together,” White said in a text message to Postmedia News (HT: MMA Mania).

Unfortunately for fans expecting him in the cage, it won’t happen at UFC 206 in Toronto. As St-Pierre alluded to earlier, he is still negotiating with new UFC owner Ari Emanuel.

“I tried to resolve things,” St-Pierre said. “but unfortunately, right now it's not happening. Hopefully things will change soon.”

As for his claims of being a free agent, White stood firm that GSP is still under contract.

“He’s under contract with the UFC,” White said. “So yes if he returns to fighting it would be with us.”
