New, comments

Here's how the 3 judges scored the fantastic title fight between Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit at UFC 195.

Joshua Dahl-USA TODAY Sports

First off, Robbie Lawler vs Carlos Condit was really a fantastic fight. The final stanza is easily the best round in the past year, and both men emerged as winners on that contest. There can only be one champion though, and the decision, is something a many are contesting and debating.

As seen on the photo below (HT: MMAFighting) , there were no 10-8 scores, and the clear cut rounds were 1 and 4 for Condit, and 2 and 5 for Lawler. Judges were split on the third round, with judge Chris Lee and Derek Cleary both giving it to Robbie, and judge Tony Weeks giving it to Carlos.

Lawler Condit scorecards

Did Lawler's few (and cleaner) shots early in the round weigh more than Condit landing with significantly more volume for majority of the third? Two judges thought so, and in the end, Lawler retain his title.

For what it's worth, I had it 48-47 Condit in what felt like a bout that was pretty straight forward to score. Dallas Winston on the Bloody Elbow play-by-play had it as a draw, with the 3rd round being a 10-10.

Overall, Condit landed 198 out of 504 strikes, while Lawler landed 78 of 177.
