Following a slew of submission finishes earlier in the night, Stipe Miocic brought a violent end to the UFC 195 co-main event when he knocked out former champion Andrei Arlovski in the opening round of their significant match-up. The American will likely get a title shot in the near future. Arlovski was on a six-fight win streak and was yet to lose a fight in his second UFC stint. He is now 4-1 in his second stint with the UFC.
Check out the play-by-play for the end of the fight below:
R1: Stomp kick to the body from Arlovski. Miocic lands a left counter but almost with an open-palm strike. Miocic ducks his head on an Arlovski combo and stamps his ear with a short, heavy right, and Arlovski goes on roller-skates before hitting the floor. Miocic flurries to the finish.
