On Tuesday evening, the United States Anti-Doping Agency notified the UFC that Yoel Romero had suffered a potential anti-doping violation. It appears the expected title contender failed one of his out-of-competition drug tests.

At least one UFC middleweight was satisfied with the news, as Tim Kennedy targeted Romero on twitter with a barrage of entertaining tweets.

Kennedy last fought in September 2014 when he lost to Romero by TKO in the third round of their controversial contest. Kennedy nearly finished Romero in the second round but was saved by the bell. Romero's cornermen later delayed the start of the third round by 30 seconds to allow their fighter more time to recover.

The UFC later released an official statement on Romero's suspension, which stated that USADA will "handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case involving Romero.
